It was wonderful to share my artwork with the community during the May 2026 Silicon Valley Open Studios. Thank you for making it a successful exhibit! Bio
Linda Nystrom’s art is a conversation between two worlds, merging the grace of Chinese paintbrush styles with Western watercolor traditions. A lifelong student of the medium since the 1970s, Linda’s observational skills are sharpened by her passion for photography, allowing her to translate the dramatic transformations of light onto paper.
Her current collection, Embracing Nature, seeks to illustrate the stories found within our connection to the earth. Infusing her work with a sense of whimsy, she has evolved from painting botanical subjects to capturing the complex textures of textiles and the intimacy of human features. This narrative depth is exemplified in her award-winning pieces "Freedom" and "Flight Born from Gold," both of which earned international recognition at Fabriano in Acquarello (2025/2026). Her latest piece, Gifting Back to Nature, shows a girl freeing her flowers and butterflies from her kimono back to nature. A dedicated leader in her local arts community, Linda currently serves as President of Silicon Valley Visual Arts.
